DDS Freezes out

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this Forum and I really hope you guys can help me!

First my DDS was alright. I upgraded the Firmware and it was still alright.

After a while it started to freeze on the turn off, I mean I would hold the button the "Off bar" would be complete but the device wouldn't turn off until I cut the power. This stopped happening for some time and then started again.

Now DDS went psycho and it's freezing at the start!!!
If I turn it on with the usb pendrive that came along it recognizes the library (quite small and done with the Librarian Software, actually I tried with just ONE mp3 in the root) but it freezes on the next screen, the one that asks if you wanna load or update the existing library. No button works, not even on/off.
If I turn it on with nothing plugged it asks me for a USB device and when I plug it it freezes again at the same point.

I also tried re-installing the Firmware and it freezes in the "wait for the Firmware to install bla bla bla" screen. The installation time-bar won't even show up.

Does anyone have a clue? It pretty much ruined my performance in a very important festival and I had to improv. thank god there was a friend with CDJs (AND CDs)
Is there any way to really Format the whole device?

Hi,
that seems to be the same failure like the one of muccari, written in this forum. If Numark changed anything in prog or in the hardware, who knows?
We have a Numark-Support here in Germany, but i don't know if they are reachable, i didn't had to try, knock on wood....

Hi, it seems that you have a problem similar to mine. My DDS has only a week and however worked with his/her firmware 1.11. Also I have made the updating I have followed all to the letter but anymore nothing doesn't work and it jams as I have written in the post.I am contacting the Numark in UK it is the only one that answers me but it doesn't say anything intelligent, that pc uses win or mac, you have tried other pendrive and other doors usb ecc. ecc..There is no need that tells me these things, I have tried everything the impossible.I would want to know from them if a hard reset exists with the keys or a firmware of reset.Meanwhile let's keep in touch if we discover something it is all right for everybody.
I live in Italy and I don't have here Numark support. I have bought him to London because he is cost me 425 Euro, in Italy the double one but also on the site Numark online.It is not that these unities clone and the firmware destroys her?If you have a contact in Germany can you help there? If I must re-send mine to London besides the time it will cost me the consignment and I don't know what other. Do you help there please? The I will try to put still the library in the pendrive this I had not done him to me it stops him to "DDS DIGITAL DJ."Let's keep in touch and helped us if you discover something. I have written to anything that Numark (also in giappone) but nobody responds.

Yes I'm also from Italy, Florence.
In fact my DDS does not even turn on anymore, I'll take it as dead and send it to some tech support hoping they can do something about it.

The Italian support for Numark is this:

Hi Guys,

I have only been using dds 80 for a few weeks. I have loaded loads of cds on it but have reracked my old numark cdn88 in the same a rack as my new dds80. Very heavy. This allows me to work between them both and get more comfortable with moving away from cds.
I got a freezes out. It happended when. 1, put a cd in the dds80 unit 2, copied a track 3, played the copied track and 4, tried to eject the cd. I have 2 other pen drive in the unit and nothing would eject but i could still play for the main hard drive and 2 pen drives. It would'nt force close on either the dds or cd.hard drive unit. I was forced to remove the plug mid gig. So luckly i had my cdn 88 ready to go. Once i plugged the unit back in it played fine for the reamaing two hrs of the gig. So dont'nt know if ripping the cd was my problems.
Will try it again when i am not at a gig to see if i can re create the problem.
