Help me!!!

Maybe if we all shout loud enough Numark will incorporate our requests in the latest version of the Numark DDS & Numark DDS80 firmware release.

Hello to Italy!
Did you try to make a second firmware-reading by switching off dds and hold the start-button for some seconds, i think. Do the firmware-update start new or what happens in this case? You have to press the button long enouth! I made also an update from 1.10 to 1.13 and everything works well.

I tried to re-upgrade the DDS but he's stopped at screen "looking for firmware".Have you got a new file for me or another solution? The first time I tried the DDS load the firmware and the OK appeared on the the screen but at re-start was locked at screen DDS Digital Dj. Shall I continue to upgrade with my file 1.13 on the pendrive many times?
Help me!!! Thank you.

Did you try out the update with another usb-stick? And did you try out one of the twice other usb-ports when you proceed the update? Your usb-device needs to be formated in fat32, when i'm right. Tell us, what did you try out until now?!

I try all usb ports, I work with fat32 and fat pendrive of many brands and size.
I believe is a problem hardware because when the DDS is on and in "looking for firmware" the led of pendrive not blinking is not comunicate with usb port. Numark support not responding or found a solution. I believe THIS IS ONLY FORUM ACTIVE for DDS!!!!! Only solution for me is an hard reset, but with combination of the key panel? Another is I return the DDS to the shop for repair or change.

Hello muccari,

I have the same problem. Do you have support from a solution? I have also conducted update from version 1.11 to 1.13. It looks like that USB port no longer works.

Best wishes

I don't have support from a solution. I contacted with email a Numark Support in UK but not resolve the problem. I send the DDS at shop in London and is arriving a new unit in the next day. I looks like that USB port no longer works and the machine freeze. Don't upgrade the DDS to 1.11 to 1.13 the procedure destroy the DDS.
But the Numark writing: Reccomended to Upgrade your DDS is faulty save firmware and the procedure introducing new funtionality.
We have a solution? We have a support in Germany?

Best wishes

Firmware 1.11

Postby muccari » 12 Apr 2010, 14:31

The new DDS80 has arrived to me from the shop in substitution.
It has the firmware 1.11 and I won't risk the updating to the version 1.13.
You know how to tell me what the improvements of the upgrade are from 1.11 to 1.13? Do you know if a HUb Sitecom is compatible?
Thanks

Hi muccari and all:

I got my DDS80 yesterday. I read on these forums before I even decided to make the purchase, so I was aware of some issues reported by users here.

I was reluctant to update my unit to firmware version 1.13, but I gave it a shot. After the firmware update, I started having a problem where my unit started flashing all the lights and going into the DEMO screen mode after about 40 seconds of playing any track. Before the firmware update to 1.13, the unit was working well. So in my opinion the update to 1.13 was the cause of the problem.

I did some searching on the Internet and found one site with older firmware (1.11 and 1.12) available for download. I went and downloaded them both and used the version 1.12 to update my DDS80. The result was that my unit is working good again! I am so relieved! I am glad I found that site with the 2 older version of firmware. By the way, the site is here: http://www.interstateaudio.nl/product/299/dds+80+

It is not a site in the United States, which is where I live, and where I bought my DDS80 from. It disappointing to me that Numark didn't have these two older versions of firmware available for download at http://www.Numark.com/DDS80. I hope Numark doesn't cause that site to remove these two older firmware versions because they are a great solution to fix a problem that occurs after updating to firmware version 1.13.

Muccari, I see you should have a new unit by now. I don't recommend updating the firmware to version 1.13, but version 1.12 is working good for me, so you or anyone else finding this forum may want to try doing this:

-Get the other two firmware versions from the site I posted a link to above, and try to update using version 1.12 (since it is a more recent version than 1.11 you may have more fixes and features, as a result of updating with it rather than using 1.11).

-Make sure you unzip the firmware update and copy it to the root directory of the storage device you will use to update your DDS unit. The unzipped file should have the name, DDS80_v1.12_6843.upg, for example.

-Remember when you update the firmware, you are suppose to disconnect all storage devices from your DDS unit, except the storage device you have the firmware update on. And the unit should be off with the firmware update on a USB drive and the USB drive connected to the DDS unit, for example.

-Remember to power on the DDS by holding in the power button until you see the screen say that it's searching for the firmware. This is very important. Once you see that on the screen, you can let go of the power button, and the DDS should find the firmware on the USB stick and update the DDS unit.

This worked for me, and I hope it will work for others.
